TERMS & CONDITIONS

DAY OLD CHICKS

  1. “Minimum 4 chicks per purchase” is required for their well being. Dayold chicks do so much better when they grow in a small group, they snuggle, play and interact. They make bonding if something unexpected happens to any chicks they will still have others to rely on. Having a small group will make transitioning “outside” life (e.g. adding into existing flock) easier.
  2. Our chicks are sold UNSEXED.
Even an experienced hatchery guarantees 80% in certain breeds & they charge more for that. 80% sounds a lot but ours is already at 50% by nature.
  3. Our chicks are *VACCINATED for Marek’s disease upon hatch. *From 30/08/2022
We don’t travel with our chicks for vaccination for bio security reasons nor do a group vaccination to save vaccination costs. All our chicks are bred, hatched, vaccinated & sold directly by us at our property. The vaccine must be administered as soon as chicks are hatched & vaccinated chicks are recommended to be kept in “Quarantine for 3 weeks” without any outside contact until they develop full immunity.

No vaccine will guarantee “They will never get it” nor cover all the other diseases however we vaccinate our chicks for Marek’s disease as it is the most common disease in Australian backyards and can be introduced easily without knowing. e.g. Wild birds, rodents, walking into a fodder shop, poultry markets, poultry show, any new healthy looking bird you purchased can also be a silent carrier, family & friends who own poultry and visit your home with soil on their shoes….the list goes on. It can only be prevented by vaccine, there is no cure once infected and can wipe off an entire flock. It costs us a lot to vaccinate as a small breeder but we do this to keep our chicks protected where possible so our customers can have a happy chook life with peace of mind.

Please always remember – BIO SECURITY & general well being are the most important things with keeping any livestock.
  4. We do not take any responsibility once the chicks leave our hands. We check our chicks individually making it sure they do not have any *faults, and are fit & healthy.
  5. We are unable to take back (have returned) any chicks, adult chickens or roosters due to bio-security reasons.
  6. Please make sure you have searched and have brief knowledge of what they need & how to care for them. Google, Youtube and there are 100s of facebook groups about poultry & chickens – all amazing resources.

Price, Payment & Pick up

  1. Our price is subject to change depending on season, demand and many other variable factors e.g cost of feed. We do not price match our previous prices nor other breeder’s prices. We charge what we believe it is right for our birds & eggs, not how much others charge.
  2. Payment can be made via Bank transfer, credit cards, Eftpos or Cash on pick up.
  3. There will be a *surcharge applied to all Credit cards & Eftpos payments.
*1.6-2.2% automatically calculated & applied upon transaction.
  4. We are unable to hold fertile eggs unless they are paid for, as they need to be incubated as fresh as possible and we want our eggs to get to the customers hands as quick as possible. We are unable to take the risk of “change of mind” as this can affect the freshness of the eggs and it is not fair to the next customer in line. All fertile eggs for shipping must be fully paid within 24 hours after invoice is issued.
  5. We are unable to hold our chicks unless they are paid for – Many day-old chicks are sold for broody hens, which require freshly hatched chicks for the best result. They are live animals and we have responsibility to find them good families & homes as soon as possible, we can not rely on “will be there” and they miss out their chance to go to a happy home.

We try our best to please our customers. It is never our intention to disappoint anyone. Word of mouth travels faster than anything. If you are unhappy with our service, please consider that there are a lot of factors before jumping on social media or review. Even a small ripple can turn into a massive impact on our small family business & our passion for heritage chicken.
